Farmers are in a state of shock due to the fall in the market price of tomatoes. The market price of 500 to 600 rupees per 20 kg crate of tomatoes two months ago has now fallen to 150 to 200 rupees. Due to this, farmers are facing hardship as they are not able to recover the cost of harvesting and transporting tomatoes. Traders have informed that the market price of tomatoes has fallen due to a large increase in production and arrival of tomatoes across the country.
