Moharram festival has been celebrated in a unique way in Solapur city for many years. Muharram is a celebration of Hindu Muslim religious unity. Solapurkars are keeping the long tradition of paying their vows by decorating a vow tiger during Muharram. At Bade Maulali Dargah at Kumbhar Ves in the city, many Hindu Muslim devotees are seen taking their children to the Dargah by painting them as tigers.
