The number of leopards has increased significantly in Khed, Ambegaon, Junnar and Shirur talukas of Pune district and there has also been a big increase in leopard attacks. Due to this, a major human-leopard conflict has arisen in this area and the Forest Department is trying to prevent this conflict. As part of this effort, a six-day training camp has been organized at Ghodegaon for nature lovers, snake lovers, forest committee members and rescue team members of North Pune district through the Disaster Management Authority Pune and the Forest Department Junnar. Mahendra Dhore, Project Manager of Manikdoh Leopard Shelter Center, and various officers of the Forest Department are providing the trainees who participated in this training with the necessary information to prevent human-leopard conflict and start human-leopard coexistence.
