कोल्हापूर अर्थात करवीर हे स्थान दक्षिणकाशी म्हणून ओळखले जाते. अनेक प्राचीन मंदिरे या ठिकाणी पाहायला मिळतात. यातच एक महत्त्वाचे दत्त स्थान असणाऱ्या श्री एकवीरा दत्त भिक्षालिंग मंदिराला देखील एक विशेष महत्त्व आहे. श्री दत्त महाराज भिक्षेला करवीरात येतात आणि याच श्री दत्त भिक्षालिंग मंदिर परिसरात भिक्षा ग्रहण करतात, असे या मंदिराची महती सांगितली जाते.Kolhapur i.e. Karveer is a place known as Dakshinkashi.
