A major encounter is underway between police and Maoists in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, adjacent to Gadchiroli district, and three Maoists have been killed. More than 500 soldiers have surrounded a large cadre of Maoists in the forest on the border of Bijapur and Dantewada districts. The bodies of three Maoists have been found at the scene in the encounter that has been going on for two hours.
