MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar raised the issue of the train accident at Mumbra railway station in the Legislative Assembly through Lakshvedhi. As many as 7,565 passengers died in various accidents in the last three years. 741 passengers lost their lives between Thane and Kalyan in the last year. Transport Minister Sarnaik informed that the state government has ordered the railway administration to take immediate measures for the safety of passengers. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik also announced the formation of a task force to change the working hours of private offices in Mumbai in the Legislative Assembly.
