Marathi language has been given the status of classical language. In the meeting of the Union Cabinet, the decision to grant the status of classical language to five languages of India was approved. After this, along with Marathi, Pali, Assamese, Prakrit and Bengali have also been given the status of classical languages. The central government has taken this big decision in the background of assembly elections.मराठी भाषेला अभिजात भाषेचा दर्जा देण्यात आला आहे. केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाच्या बैठकीत भारतातल्या पाच भाषांना अभिजात भाषेचा दर्जा देण्याचा निर्णय मंजूर करण्यात आला. यानंतर मराठीसह पाली, आसामी, प्राकृत आणि बंगाली भाषेलाही अभिजात भाषेचा दर्जा देण्यात आला आहे. विधानसभा निवडणुकीच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर केंद्र सरकारने हा मोठा निर्णय घेतला आहे.
