The discovery of a rare white frog in the studio of photographer Ananda Rade at Vetalpeth in Palus has created curiosity among the citizens. Ananda Rade saw this rare white frog. This frog is also called 'tree frog'. This species was confirmed by Kaka Bhise, a researcher from Amboli. Bhise said, the rare white frog climbs trees or walls. When there is heavy rain, this frog comes out. It is naturally white. Rade has safely released this frog in its natural habitat. The rare Indian Common Tree Frog species was first introduced to the world by John Edward Gray in 1830. This frog is widely seen in South Asia. It is also seen in places with heavy rainfall, including Konkan. This frog is also known as 'Chunam', while in Sanskrit it is called 'Churna'. These frogs come to the forest or a village if there are trees and moisture. Using its physical structure with webbed toes, it jumps from one tree to another. The toes of the frogs on the tree are shaped like a plate that is widened towards the end. The frogs have dark colored stripes on the inside of their legs. They shine brightly when the frog jumps. These frogs use bright colors to deceive their enemies and defend themselves. Therefore, the presence of such frogs is an indication of good environmental quality in that area.
