धाराशिव जिल्ह्यातील कुंथलगिरीच्या खव्याला केंद्र सरकारकडून( जीआय) म्हणजेच भौगोलीक मानांकन देण्यात आलय. 1972 ला या परिसरातील शेतकऱ्यांनी शेतीला जोड व्यावसाय म्हणून दुधापासून खवा आणि खव्याचा पेढा बनवण्यास सुरूवात केली. सोलापूर धुळे महामार्गावरती कुंथलगिरी फाट्यावर सुरूवातीला दोन ते तीन ठिकाणी चालणारा हा खवा व पेढा विक्रीचा व्यावसाय आज देश पातळीवर जावून पोहचलाय.The Khavy of Kunthalgiri in Dharashiv district has been given geographical classification (GI) by the Central Government. In 1972, the farmers of this area started making khawa and khawa straw from milk as a supplementary business to agriculture. At Kunthalgiri fork on the Solapur Dhule highway, this business of selling grain and straw, which started at two to three places, has reached the national level today.
