बलिप्रतिपदा म्हणजे दिवाळीतील एक महत्त्वाचा दिवस आहे. खरंतर शेतकरीवर्गात या दिवसाचं खूप महत्त्व आहे. हा दिवस बळीराजाच्या स्मरणार्थच साजरा केला जातो. बळीराजा बहुजनांचा देव मानला जातो. ‘इडा, पीडा टळो आणि बळीचं राज्य येवो’, अशी प्रार्थना या दिवशी केली जाते. तर कोल्हापुरात या दिवशी बळीराजा महोत्सव साजरा केला जातो. सलग 18 व्या वर्षी यंदाही हा उत्सव मोठ्या उत्साहात पार पडला.Balipratipada is an important day in Diwali.
