आपल्या चपखल शब्दरचना आणि भाषाशैलीने सगळ्यांनाच हसायला लावणारा बहुरूपी अनेकांना माहिती असेल. आता मात्र या समाजाची कला शेवटची घटका मोजत आहे. मनोरंजनाची विविध साधने उपलब्ध झाल्याने समाजातून पाहिजे तसा प्रतिसाद बहुरूपी कलेला मिळत नाहीये. छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांच्या काळात या कलेला राजाश्रय होता. या काळात हा समाज हेरगिरी करण्याचं काम करायचा. मात्र आता गाव खेड्यात कोणीही या समाजाच्या कलेला महत्त्व देताना दिसत नाहीये. Many would know Polyrupi who makes everyone laugh with his witty phrasing and language style. But now the art of this society is counting the last element. With the availability of various means of entertainment, multiform art is not getting the desired response from the society. During the period of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, this art was a royal refuge. During this period, this society used to do espionage work. But now no one seems to give importance to the art of this community in the villages.
