    In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Pranab Kumar Balabantaray of BJD won in this constituency beating Ramesh Chandra Parida of BJP by a margin of 52,739 votes which was 30.5% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pranab Kumar Balabantaray of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Srinath Mishra of INC by a margin of 85,786 votes which was 53.87% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kalpataru Das of BJD won this seat defeating Kangali Charan Panda of INC by a margin of 35,133 votes which was 25.63% of the total votes polled for the seat.
